IPL (Indian Premier League), ORS (Oral Re hydration Solution), and the like are acronyms whose full forms would require a bit of brain-straining for most people today. These acronyms have essentially transitioned into proper nouns. AI is rapidly joining this exact category. A generation from now, very few people will actually remember that it stands for "Artificial Intelligence." There are two conditions for an acronym to completely displace or obscure its original words, and both must be met simultaneously ( AND condition ): Complexity and Length:   The original words must be long and complex to pronounce. Long words take more time to utter, and complexity always feels heavy. The tongue isn't fond of navigating bulky words because it hinders communication. भाग-१ से क्रमशः—> दया, करुणा, संवेदना और सहानुभूति जैसे मानवीय गुण कुछ दशकों में संग्रहालयों में मिलेंगे।  “A man is known by the company he keeps“. आजकल हमारी कंपनी मोबाइल फ़ोन और टेक गैजेट्स की है। मशीनें हमारे जीवन में इस क़दर घर कर गई हैं कि हम मशीनों की तरह ही दया, करुणा, सांत्वना, सद्भावना आदि मानवीय गुणों से दूर होते जा रहे हैं। किसी का दर्द देख दूसरे का दिल न पसीजना उदासीनता है। भावनात्मक तठस्थता। यह समाज के लिए ख़तरे का पहला स्तर है। लेकिन जब किसी का दर्द दूसरा को संतोष या सुख दे, तो यह एक मानसिक बीमारी है, अग्रेंजी में Schadenfreude कहलाता है। इस बीमारी की जड़ ईर्ष्या और inferiority complex है। हर समाज में ईर्ष्या की अपनी जगह है, मान्यता है। यह मानव प्रवृत्ति का दानवीय पहलू (dark side) है। कुछ लोगों में Schadenfreude एक नशे का रूप ले लेता है। जैसे अफ़ीम। जब तक सामने वाले की दो-चार बुराइयाँ न कर लें, उनका जी नहीं भरता। किसी के साथ, चाहे वो राक्षस ही क्यों न हो, बुरे होने की ख़बर पे यदि आपके अंदर से बुरे होने के समर्थन में “अच्छा हुआ या जैसी करनी वैसी भरनी” जैसी आवाज़ न...

IPL (Indian Premier League) , ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution),  इत्यादि कुछ ऐसे acronym हैं, जिनके full form के लिए दिमाग़ पे ज़ोर पड़ेगा। ये Acronyms Noun बन चुके हैं। AI भी इसी श्रेणी में आता जा रहा है। एक-आध पीढ़ी बाद Artificial Intelligence बहुत कम लोग याद रख पाएँगे। किसी acronym के अपने मूल शब्दों को विस्थापित या विस्मृत करने की दो शर्तें हैं। दोनों शर्तें एक साथ (AND condition) लागू होनी चाहिए। एक है शब्दों का बड़ा और उच्चारण में जटिल होना। बड़े होने के कारण उच्चारण में अधिक समय लगता है। जटिलता हमेशा भारी होती है। जिह्वा को भी भारी भरकम शब्द राह नहीं आते। इससे संचार में बाधा आती है। कानों का भी यही हाल है। उन्हें भी आसान भाषा में सुनाना पसंद है।    ऐसे में Acronym जिह्वा और कानों का काम आसान कर देता देते हैं।जैसे SP ( superintendent of Police)। दूसरी शर्त है उन शब्दों का प्रचलित होना। उसमें दम होना। प्रचलित होना प्रख्यात होने से अलग है। FIR (First Information Report) प्रचलित है, लेकिन क्या प्रख्यात है? सुनते ही एक भय छू जाता है। इन दोनों शर्तों को पूरा करने के कारण ...
